Pete, I love the little black coupe being worked on in front of the garage.
Is that a stock model or has it been customized in some way?

The real prototype for the Plasticville ranch house can be found in a development in Marple Township, Delaware County, PA. The first time I drove by them I did a double take. Also, the prototype for the school is in Upper Darby, PA. It’s sits off of Garret Road, across from the trunk line for the Media,Sharon Hill trolley.
Beautiful thread of information - thank you. In the early 50's we had a 44' long train table loaded with Plasticville, I think we had just about every building available at the time. Today, many still reside on the current train table, some have been repainted but not all.
QUESTION: Have any of you ever seen a plastic Army Barracks. It was originally dark brown with a yellow roof and doors, but was repainted to match actual barracks (of which many are still standing). Here are a few photos from different angles and I hope someone recognizes it. It did have very small army figures, played with and lost of course.
I see that I added three photos, but embedded one of them twice. Sorry folks. Go Army!
I bought 8 of them with the intention of using them to depict every duty station where I served in both the the Army and the Corps. That project is still in the "let's finish this someday" stage and I'll need to find some more to make it work out right.
Actual scale is about 1/72, but they'll do.

What is the source of that GULF sign? There was one on the Gulf station in the Northwood Shopping Center in Baltimore. The last time that I drove by a few years ago, it was still there, mostly intact but not functional. It is now a BP station and the sign is gone.

Lightworks USA Miller Engineering sign #8181.
It’s the scenes throughout that make the layout unique.
I do have a single Plasticville structure on my layout, the Plasticville Turnpike. It guards the entrance to my vintage Matchbox Motorways slotcar set (a favorite amusement of visitors to my layout).
The workers are proceeding very slowly on this Plasticville construction project. Perhaps they're distracted by the constant parade of trains on the nearby mainline.
Nice post (as always) Arnold!
Artie, I believe you've told us in the past but I can't recall who made the quonset hut in Area 51?
The Quonset hut is Lionel, and I think it’s in the latest catalog, as well as on the ‘bay. It come fully assembled, except for a stove pipe in the rear.
