My mom had heart issues as a little girl. Hshe needed a triple bypass and heart valve i her late 80' Hernia's , breast cancer lung issues. Even, though she always took care of herself. She had issues where stents could not be installed in her artery because of the location and a bad heart valve..
The surgeon did not want to do the surgery because of her age. But, changed his mind when her Doctor described my mom's mental attitude. She is naturally a fighter and survivor. A very important factor.
So, If you do find a Doctor to perform the surgery. You need to have a good talk with your wife. It is not a issue thing to go through at any age.

Hope you can follow the above advice and get her to one of those internationally rated hospitals that are very good at what they do. Medicine is one thing that keeps getting better.

An echocardiogram is a test that uses high frequency sound waves (ultrasound) to make pictures of your heart. The test is also called echocardiography or diagnostic cardiac ultrasound.

I don't know which moved me more, a man who seeks his train buddies to pray for his wife of 50 years or the many sincere and decent responses. I will keep you and your wife in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep us advised.
