As we are working through the prototype of our new manufacturing warehouse shadowbox, I have started to think about the possibility of offering it in kit form. Initially I would like to offer it at York in October, where you would pick up the kit and I could also hold a group session on how to paint and build it, at least the way we do that.
Photographs of various parts, either stacked (elevation pieces), in the laser bed (windows and detail pieces) and built-out (the shadowbox) are included in this post. To be sure, this project requires what I would call a higher level of experience and ability to build. The builder should have a dedicated work area. All of our models are airbrushed. All of the parts associated with the elevation are peal and stick, but keeping them "square" during the assembly process is needed in order to reach the desired finished product. The only glue we use is TackyGlue to assemble the shadowbox pieces.
The price point of the kit looks to be about $125. Our fully built model is offered at $225 on a preorder basis up to October 1, 2017. If you are interested, please reach out to me directly at (973) 507-4072 during shop hours, 9AM to 5PM Eastern Time.
