The AUX POWER INPUT on the TIU powers only the TIU unit. 150 watts would be plenty for that purpose. Track gets its power from TIU power Outputs. The track power source has to come from the TIU VOLTAGE IN. Start with 150 watts. That might be plenty.
I have used a 75 watt MTH brick to power my TIU accessory power and it works very good, bought just the power unit of a Z-750 at a train show. Have a Lionel postwar ZW to it for track power. So I think that 150 watts would be more then enough to power the TIU accessory input.

Sonny,
You do not need to waste a decent transformer on powering your DCS TIU, Raido Shack sells a little power pack that will take care of that job, they are pretty inexpensive also.
Remember to ask for the adatper to connect it to your TIU however.

Link to this thread for additional information. 18 volts (1 amp) = 18 watts. Should run a TIU via Aux power.
