Here is a link for a 12 volt 12.5 amp power supply to drive LED light strips. It's on a Daily Deal site and I believe it's available only for a few days at $20. It has terminals to hook it up to the AC. Will this work for powering LED (and other) lights on a layout and does anyone have suggestions on the best and most safest way to hook it up? Or is it better to look for something with a plug on it?

I've got a few old computers in the garage and a box of walwarts, you, be surprised what might be in your home that will work now. Sure $20 is a good deal on that thing, you can powere a ton of LED's maybe a whole layout full of LEDs.
Thanks to everyone for all the replies! I was initially thinking about this or a wall wort, but it looks like the better solution is to look for a used computer power supply or opt for the new one from Newegg. The additional benefit is that the Computer PS has a power switch and a cord to plug in.
