Preference for Menards next structure?

I would like to see more older type industrial buildings from the thirties, forties and fifties. Same with city buildings. And maybe down the road vehicles to go with those eras. Also maybe some items for engine yards...............Paul

how about a roundhouse or maybe row homes like in the city that would be awesome

I am with Paul2!  We need more industrial buildings.

Maybe a twist to the saurkraut factory as a steel fabricator or a lumber distributor with that exposed elevated structure in the rear to hold a movable crane!

or maybe a warehouse where the freight car goes INSIDE the structure!

RR Towers, stations , freight houses, engine houses and roundhouses are of abundance in O gauge! WE need another one of these like a hole in our heads!

I would go for a "small" wooden coaling tower (so I don't have to kitbash one I have been procrastinating on), a grain elevator (as if I need another), and a meat packing plant for all those Atlas reefers.   A fruit or vegetable packer for other reefers would be welcomed here, too.   I always want steam era structures, from small town environments, and there are many more small industries I would be interested in.

We got Grandpa house is he the only one living on your layout? we need some more homes. Ranch. Duplex. row houses as said above, cottages,etc

I like the idea of row houses, a grain elevator, small stock yard etc! I enjoy kit bashing Korber kits or Ameritowne for factories, freight depots! I would also love it if they would offer a pack of road name signs to use on the 2 engine houses I already have. Don't want to have to buy the one with the many signs just to get them! Whatever they offer, we know it will be a very good one!!

Gee, with Three Mile Island, you'll have to evacuate (clear) the layout!   And be back to a sheet of plywood...

I'd like to see more houses. A church, town hall, a school building, a courthouse, and maybe a small hospital would be cool. Lots of great ideas already mentioned. I'd like to see them offer these buildings in kit form as well.

It might be a bit large for some, but I'd like a coal mine for the coal that my future Menards power plant will need.

Many great ideas but Menards is building a reputation on offering nice low priced products.

It seems that some of the ideas above would go into a higher price line.

We need a good size shipping warehouse trucks in and out one side and trains out the other side. REA type. at least three stories high.

I like that idea.  All of the churches seem to be country churches.  Perhaps, a modern school as well.  They could also turn the sauerkraut factory into a micro-brew.

Houses of types that haven't been offered in O scale:  Early 20th century such as bungalows, craftsman style, Sears kit houses (still some of those on farms in my area), and even 1950 - 60's modern.  Plenty of 19th century houses already around.

I agree that there have been many roundhouses, engine sheds, stations and yard towers offered by several manufacturers/importers over the years.

However, keeping with that same general railroad structure theme, I can't think of many (or any!) erecting shop (large) or car repair shop (a bit smaller) buildings that have been offered in O-scale.  I would like to see someone produce these with a "brick" exterior to compliment the previously-mentioned roundhouses and engine sheds.

I also like the meat packing distribution warehouse idea, and to that I would add a similar (modified version) fruit and vegetable distribution warehouse.

Some ideas for Menard's structures; woodworking shop, crate and barrel factory, small steel mill, machine shop, foundry, textile mill, peanut/confections factory,  cooperative dairy, rubber factory,  The industry that we once had along the tracks and lost.

Let's **** off the PITA people and give those Menard's stock cars a destination to go to..... How about s slaughterhouse....er meat processing plant!

If the next structure is related directly to the railroad I would like to see some modern names.  Norfolk Southern would be great!  It would be nice if they put out some NS boxcars as well.

Gas Station they did one from like 40's but another a little new would be nice but it would have to be like the 60's as after that it basically came to your convenient store with pumps. 

Theres a lot of things that would be nice addition.

like the wonder bread idea but the bakery idea would be nice you don't see to many of them on layouts

Could be done with laser cutting Menard's used on the power plant......how many folks will sign up for a pre-order at $800??? Or have the space!!!!  But INSPIRED BY....maybe...

An insane asylum seems most appropriate,

My great grandfather left with a freight train bound for Richwood every other day just across the street from this Weston asylum.....so it's very near a rail yard!!
