The Hudson sound file works, all the features work, and the whistle is very similar.  Both are passenger sounds, so I think it's a keeper.

Well, they make all our trains, I guess it only follows that they have secrets.

 

He probably got it from MTH web site.  This is the upgrade sound file for that model.

I started looking for a sound file in my wife's (now our) wash machine.  She saw me, and now makes me do the laundry.  Good luck.

Since that's a 5V file and I now have a 3V board in the locomotive, I doubt he got it there.  I know I'm somewhat dense at times, but I do know how to type the product number into the search box.

 

G, I an curious how you worded your search to produce sound files rather than the engine itself? When I search on 20-3047-1 I get a link to the engine only.

Pete, there is a link to the sound file on the engine page.

John,  Come on....  Click the upgrade sound file link and you get the 3V version.  Even has 3V in the file name.   G

Pete,  We are taught at MTH school and it has been posted here quite a lot by me that the best way to get documents is to first click the Service link, than the documents and file link.

 

At that point you can type in specific product number, or wheel configuration, engine type etc....

 

Until MTH web is upgraded the only reliable place to see all documents is via service link.

 

So in Johns case he would get both the original 5V file or the new upgrade 3V file listed.

 

You can further modify the search with the left side links:  RK, Premier, Steam, Diesel, Catalog, etc....

John Your welcome, but you don't need the tech login.  MTH main web has the service link.  The tech link just sends you there.

 

The old web actually had tech only data that was useful, it is suppose to come back with the new website, when ever that is.   G

Right you are, I don't think I've ever used the link that way.

 

 

I find it very useful because you can get all the engines you searched for with sound files, instructions and parts diagrams listed if they are available.  That way you can easily screen for newer model sound files as an example.

 

Interesting there is only one Niagara that showed up.  G

I guess they only ever made one, that's all I can think of.   A web search only turns up that model.

What happens when one attempts to put a 5v file into a 3v engine? Does the loader aallow you to do that?

No it won't allow it and no harm is done.  G

There was something said about a flaw in that logic, but I can't find it now.  It's always stopped me, so AFAIK, it works.
