The Go Pro does not have enough depth of field for model train work. This video, while nicely done, perfectly illustrates that. That's why the interiors of the passenger cars and the caboose in this video are all out of focus. And the focus is not adjustable. Everything within about 8" of the lens is out of focus and there is nothing you can do about it. It is a very unnatural look and gives away the fact that it is a model.
I bought one, tried it and quickly rejected it for model train work just for these reasons. I have another camera which is a bit larger than the GoPro, but it has adjustable focus and a MUCH longer depth of field, so everything I shoot with it is in focus.
