Do MTH Proto 3.0 engines and locos still run okay on conventional systems?

Yes they do Bob!! My engine with ps3 runs better in conventional then my ps2 engine.
The only thing different about running PS3 locos in conventional compared with PS2 is that when you first start up the loco you usually have to wait about 30 seconds for the capacitor to charge up before you can run the loco.

Bob,
They run very smooth in conventional! I have three ps3 engines and absolutely love them!

Mine do!!!!! I am convebtional ONLY......but if you want a current MTH loco.....you have no choice but 3.0
My first unit had an issue that was cured by flipping the 2-3 rail switch.
But then it ran great.....with lots of sounds if thats what you want.
My experience with the two 3.0 engines I have is identical to the others; both engines run very nice in conventional.

Yep, very smooth operating.
They run fine. I have five or six, mostly Premier but one RK, and run them in conventional with a ZW-L. They do not run quite as smoothly and slowly as Legacy locos do in conventional, but the difference is tiny and not that important.
I started out with conventional....loved every minute of it...and then jumped to the DCS world especially needed for my MU's....i am 2 and 3 rail btw.
