Our RK Allegheny with PS1 has been working great but yesterday at the toy store it wouldn't start. I tried repeatedly and it would occasionally make one clank and then quit. Lights come on and the smoke unit is running.

Must confess I don't fully understand the workings f PS1 and have no idea what to do next!

Sam for PS-1 the smoke and some lights come from track power.  Motion and sound require the boards to be functioning correctly.

If you are only getting one clank, you have an issue.  Normal start up of the processor makes 2 clanks.

Make sure your harness is connected properly, and leave it on the track for about 15-30 minutes at 14 volts to do a quick charge on the battery.  Turn the smoke unit off.

When you power down sounds should continue for about 8 seconds.  If no sounds, you have an issue and as mentioned the engine could be in a deselect state.

Do you have another PS-1 engine that is working?  G
