Protosound 1 Conventional Operation

F-3 Manual should have most of what you need - you didn't mention which loco you have - or steam/diesel.

I think the instructions are pretty generic in every PS/1 manual.

All PS-1 options are at the same feature.  Some of the newer ones had a feature or two more than the older ones.  And I do only keep one manual out to reference for all my PS-1 locomotives.

As for a link on MTH's website for a PS-1 feature list, there isn't one.  Get the manual for your locomotive and all you need is in it.

PROTOSOUND RESET FEATURE CHART
The following chart lists the available features found in your ProtoSound
equipped locomotive. The default settings for each feature as well as the
operation sequence of the feature are listed in separate columns. You can
reset all features to their original factory settings by accessing Feature 18 in
RESET and press and hold the transformer whistle button until you hear a
soft, warbled bell sound.

The rest #18 requires holding the whistle until you hear the clear bell.  Make sure battery is full charged.

The squealing brakes shouldn't come on all the time.  You may want to clean your wheels and pickup rollers really well.   G
