I think I'd open it up and see if you simply have a wire disconnected.
Did you try it in conventional mode to see if it does something different?
Yes Itraded conventional that is all I run. looked for a loose wire but couldn't find any.
It was starting up fine but i pressed the horn button during start up and now there is no thing just a tiny hum from the boards. Is there and hope for this unit?
I just recieved it thursday morning.
If you don't see anything physically, I'm not sure what to suggest. Did you measure the current draw to see if it's drawing a lot of current?
If I were you, I would find an Authorized MTH service center, they will have a test fixture for your Protosounds 2.0 loco, they can remove the board and test it to see if it works on the fixture. If it does, then you have a fairly simple problem, if it doesn't, then you have a more expensive problem. MTH makes a direct replacement board for this, but you have to change the speaker and the battery to a 3 volt version. Except for mounting the new board, it is a plug and play deal, if your loco has enough room for the plastic board mount.
This is the strange part it was running last night fine. Less than 12 hours before I tested it.
