Does anyone have, or know where I can find the sound chip for this particular locomotive? I'm interested in purchasing its chip so I can see if theres any difference between it and the sounds in my 1997 Premier Big Boy.

I do have one but you can order one from MTH. I have done many DAP BB upgrades and keep the board sets and all parts together for upgrading older brass BB. The chips are cheap money.

Hi Matt, I actually wouldn't need it until early August. My main plan is to run it through a spare proto-1 board I have hooked up to my digital amplifier and recording set up and transfer the sounds into my video editing suite so i can get what actually came from those old DATs, and not the tinny reproduction of a tender speaker through a microphone. I'm using the sounds to create atmosphere for a video I am working on. Other than that, I'm also curious to see how they compare to the Premier version (particularaly the chug sounds), and if better, I'd swap it out. I swapped out a RK for a Premier chip on a Premier Genesis because he says "the sunset limited" on the RK version, and something called "the cardinal" on the Premier version.... I took trips as a kid on the real Sunset limited so that. Hip just feel more personal and authentic. Other than that all of the other sounds were identical. Cardinal meant nothing to me.
