I have been talking to some people on Facebook about Union Pacifics 800 series Northern (FEF). I looked at Don Strack's Utah Rails site and it wasn't clear on a few things. Hopefully someone can help me out.

1) Don's page says the FEF's were oil burners. Yet the person i was talking to says they all started as coal engines and were converted to oil after WW2.

2) Similarly Don's page seems to say only the FEF-3 engines were painted gray (TTG) in 1946. Yet other sources say all the 800 gray after 1946.

It seems a lot of changes to the FEF fleet after WW2.
