I have about four ps2.0 and one ps3.0 loco I want to sale and they all run great. Question is what do I need to do to prep them for sale? Do I need to do a future reset on them?

Most guys know how to do a reset, so unnecessary. Charge battery in PS 2.0 or tell the buyer to do it. I've bought several used units, no defects. JMHO, Dave G.
If you are going to charge top dollar, I would replace the traction tires, lube the engine gearbox and make sure all features operate properly, especially the smoke unit if so equipped. If you are really ambitious, replace the smoke wick with the newer braided wicks from MTH. Know and post the mileage and chronometer time for each engine.
Of course a lot of the above depends on the age/mileage of the engine. Best of luck.
As someone who has several mth engines but no dcs system yet - offering to do a reset before shipping is a plus to me. Then I can still use my starter set remote.

Absolutely do a Factory Reset!
This way, if someone with a DCS Remote Commander purchases an engine, they'll be able to operate it. Otherwise, they will only be able to operate it conventionally.
