The above is an MTH High Rail. It runs on 031 curves. It costs 399 for a single unit.

The above is NOT a high rail. It also runs on 031 curves. it costs 329 for a running and dummy unit.

Could someone please explain the differences.

1. Why is one a high rail? the other not?

2. Why such a price difference for a single unit as opposed to 2 units.

Thanks

Thanks for the explanations. They appear to be the same size

They are NOT the same size.  The description on the Rail King unit is wrong on the TrainWorld web site.  This is from the MTH web site for the Rail King Unit. Unit Measures: 14 1/2” x 2 1/2” x 3 7/8”
