Mine is L Girder with plywood top. My concern is if i use sound board it will get dibits in it from my knees in certain areas, until scenery is finished.

Our layout was all "L Girder" construction with 3/4" plywood top. We then used Hobby Innovations vinyl "FleXXbed", glued down to the plywood (3/8" thick for main line track, and 1/4" thick for sidings & yard tracks). The Atlas solid nickel silver track was then glued down on top of the vinyl roadbed. It wound up being VERY quiet, and would also support up to 5 adults working on track & scenery projects. All scenery items were glued with Matte Medium, directly to the plywood.
