I was wondering which easier/better to switch to TMCC - a Proto 2 engine or Proto 3? Or does it even matter?
Here is why I'm asking: I have two B&O 0-6-0 switchers; one Proto 2 with the curly cable and the other is Proto 3. I don't really need both and was thinking of selling one to raise funds for other purchases. With MTH closing shop, I'm thinking if the electronics go south in one of these engines, I would just send it out to have TMCC installed. I'm trying to decide which one to keep.
It would seem that it's harder to put TMCC into the Proto 3 since that one doesn't have a cable and everything goes through the drawbar. Or am I thinking incorrectly? Can a straight cable be put into a Proto 3 without butchering the cab and tender?
I hope I'm making sense in what I'm asking. Thanks!
