B-4.   Fixture for taking "lead readings" of the EMD piston to cylinder head clearance.  Soft lead wire pieces are inserted in each end of the fixture, then placed on top of the piston, through the air intake ports of the cylinder liner, then bar the engine over so the piston crushes the lead wire.

I believe this thread is finally stabilized now.  It's been a real challenge figuring out what not to do.   It seems that once you post a thread with pictures you can't go back and edit it.  ie. adding more pictures or adding captions without the pictures being removed from the main body of the thread.

Thank you, guys who contributed earlier.  Your comment was added to the pictures. (thank you Alan) The original post was deleted.

Going froward;   Please help identify these tools.   These tools were found under a table in our train club so we're assuming they are train related.

B-3,  If anyone has a working knowledge of this tool, please share it.  One is metric and one inches.

Pretty sure that those are gauges for measuring wheel flange wear.

This is not correct. You can edit a post with photos in it any time you want. I just edited your post to add back in the missing descriptions.

You were doing something else wrong, such as posting the same image (same file name) more than once, not putting carriage returns after each image, etc. It’s all OK now.

B-3 is a wheel wear measurement tool as noted. us it for 90 inspections on the wheel sets.

B9 is a forward reverse lever out of a control stand.

C1 is an lamp cover plate typically in the center of the control panel on a GE 44 or 45 Ton industrial switcher. I could use that for one of my units.

The balance of the Modified wrenches and screw drivers are specialty type tools used to adjust injectors and or valves as an example. Specifically I'm not sure.

A-1   Maybe used to open the wheel bearing box.  ( PaulMac)

No. Way to light for opening the spring-loaded cover on plain bearing journal boxes. A "Packing Hook" would have been used for that.

Just a guess; those may have been used to insert and/or retrieve the lead-holders for measuring the piston-to-cylinder head clearance on EMD engines. The lead holder fixtures should be inserted through the cylinder liner air inlet ports, then turned 90 degrees on top of the piston.
