Checking this engine for a friend and it has 540 miles and just 20 hours on it.  The sounds and smoke and lights all work, but when you try to go forward it does not move or moves just a little then the circuit breaker on MTH1000 trips and the engine shuts down.  At first it would move a foot or so and I noticed small sparks at the tender wheels or engine drive wheels.  I never see a spike in the amp meter.  I removed the tender shell and the boiler and everything looks fine, no one has been in there and moved/changed anything.  If you turn the motor with your finger(off the track) the wheels move fine and there is no lock up, either direction.  Any help would be much appreciated.  This is a really nice engine and I am hoping it's something simple.  I am still looking for bare wire or something that makes contact with the frame but no luck so far.

I have done the usual factory resets, twice and no change.  The remote/TIU have no problem finding the engine, or starting up etc.

Motor leads are fine and it would require removing some things to see better which I can't do at this point, getting ready for York!  Well it may get sold "as is" depending on what my friend wants to do.

Oh, I in conventional mode there is only the sound of the smoke fan!  No other sounds at all but the lights do come on.  Has me stumped!
