I just got mine last week (original version). The thing did a fantastic job using the goo gone then switching to isopropal for a couple passes. The tracks look great and engines are running better than ever.

One question, my rollers got quite a bit of the black stuff on them. I then washed them using a detergent and they look clean but still stained black. What are others using to clean the rollers?

How about the North East Trains units?

montclaire...i have two of the northeast cleaning cars.they clean my track very well and they do not derail on the fastrack manual switches.

although most of my manual fastrack switches are within easy reach if i get busy doing something else and dont pay attention the r&l car will derail and cause problems.

the r&l car cleans very well as mentioned before but quite frankly imo the northeast cars do just as well.

terry.........

R&L Lines, LLC, Track Scrubbing Car is the BEST of all track cleaners I've seen and used.  I had to add some weight to it and it works beautifully.  We use denatured alcohol on the paint rollers.  The paint roller design is a superb design concept.  The rollers launder nicely in a mesh bag.  New ones are abundant in the paint section of Loews or Home Depot or Ace.
