Wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if you found a solution. My MTH Railking Passenger baggage car at the head of the train, uncouples from the next car in line which is a seated passenger car with or without actuating the uncoupler via the controller on the control panel. Very strange, and only this baggage car does it.
Anyone ideas?

Maybe the spring is weak or the pin is not going all the way into the coupler.
Thanks for the reply Roy. No, what's happening is the uncoupler is being energized electronically and the magnet is pulling the coupler bar and releasing the coupler. Just as if you had fired it with the control lever.

I am not familiar with those specific cars. Are they metal wheels? it almost sounds like when the car crosses over the uncoupler track, it is completing the circuit that activates the magnet.
Have you double checked the wiring to it?
I have seen cases where the power pickup roller is to wide or not centered properly. It makes contact between the center rail and one of the 5th rails thus energizing the electro magnet. If the train is stopped with power on the magnet will overheat or burn out.
