Hey Guys,

A few months ago I bought some Oster Electric Clipper Grease in a tube, for my dog clipper. It says that it is "Scientifically prepared for all electric clippers.".

I opened it today, and guess what I found.   Red'N Tacky.  At least I think it is.  It looks, smells, and feels like Red 'N Tacky.  It even tastes like Red 'N Tacky (though with perhaps a slightly "nuttier" flavor.)

Here is a picture.   You can buy it online.

What do you think?

But John, think of the convenience!

(I'm currently trying to dab Red N Tacky out of a one pound tube with the end of a screwdriver.)

I would probably not use up that 1/3 oz tube in 5 years.  :-)

Manny, I use a bunch of wooden coffee stirrers to place the red and tacky from my one pound tube into a syringe with a narrow, curved tip. It’s messy at first (lots of paper towels upon clean up), but once you get the entire syringe filled up, you don’t need to do it again for years and the curved, needle applicator tip gets it into every tight fitting place I want with just the right amount. Using a syringe with that type of tip is much better than that tube above.  I find red n tacky to be the best grease for my engines and have used it for years this way on worm gears, drive gears and everywhere grease is needed.

Now waitta minute.

You guys will spend $400 on an engine, or $100 on a car, at the drop of a hat, but you won't spend $8.00 for a convenient tube of grease that will last for years?

Instead, you are our out buying syringes and popsicle sticks??  And shlepping that 14 oz tube from one corner of the basement to another?

Ok, I give up.  :-)

Except, it’s not about the money. It’s about the syringe being a better applicator.

You missed this part - “and the curved, needle applicator tip gets it into every tight fitting place I want with just the right amount. Using a syringe with that type of tip is much better than that tube above.”

Maybe try reading what people wrote in an attempt to give you some advice and help before replying with a snarky response.  No worries. Ignore what everyone wrote and you keep slapping on whatever grease you want in the manner you like, regardless.

That little tube would be perfect for loading those syringes without making a mess!

Manny, I understand what you are saying and you are totally correct. Think of how convenient that little tube is around the house to lube other things! However, they are correct too. Just different strokes for different folks.
