I am speaking of the cheapie auto being a darker red almost brownish not the flat car itself,
Oh, that is a brown, not the darker read of the first cheapie cars of Variation D...
anyone?
I did not know that the cheapy cars had variations over the red/yellow versions.
So you may have something rare!
Can you take a photo of the sides? Cheapie autos were only red or yellow.
Brown was made for the auto loader in the later years, but it was the full version with wheels and grey bumpers, not the cheapies, and they do command higher prices. If the sides of your car do not have wheel wells, and they have the molded plastic wheel, it could be a repro.
There are few auction/sales on the little 'e' auction site featuring a 4 pack of 2 yellow and 2 maroon cheapies. They state that they are repos. There are also bright blue ones, claiming they *might* be rare Madison Hardware reproductions.
Ok I have a collection of all the autoloader variatons including a set with the cheapies.
I just have them to complete the collection set.
No repros or fakes.....that i know of!
