I've been working on several engines lately that I'm painting for a friend. I've been painting model trains for over 50 years now, most were HO but in the past 6 or 7 years, I've been doing a lot of O gauge engines and cars.
My preference, over the past years and still is, Floquil and Scalecoat. But when I first started painting back in the early 60's is used a brand labeled, SUPER RAILROAD LACQUER , made by SUPER MODEL AIRCRAFT from my old home town of HILLSDALE Illinois.
I still have 8 bottles of this stuff, and yes it's 50 plus years old but works well. Wonder if others have every heard of or used this brand before Floquil came out?
