I have found that I have one switch that throws with two different remote id numbers. Remote number 45 and 50 both throw switch 187L. Switch 187L is on TIU #3, AIU 3-1 and switch #6 and this should be for #50. #45 is for switch 186L and is on TIU #3, AIU 3-1 and switch #7. I have Barry's book but can not find how to get to AIU 3-1 to do an edit.
Is there a way to edit remote address #45 and leave it on the same TIU and AIU?

There is no function to edit a switch (or accessory) entry. You must delete the entry and re-add it.
#45 is for switch 186L and is on TIU #3, AIU 3-1 and switch #7
I expect that you've incorrectly entered the settings for switch 186L.
First, delete entry #45 for switch 186L. Then, carefully re-enter switch 186L as TIU #3, AIU #3 and SW port #7.
