Was wondering if anyone knows of a economical way to remotely throw switches with the legacy system. I'm also thinking about putting switch mechanism under table. Ill be using GarGraves track & Ross switches. Thanks

I don't know about the "economical" part of your request but SC-2 controllers or ASC controllers are the primary products for doing this. ZStuff for trains makes a switch machine that supports direct access via the serial line out put of the command base. I have a number of the switch controllers that are wired to SC-2's and these have worked well. There have been some reports of issues with serial line products and the Legacy base Regarding voltage drops when dealing with large numbers of devices.
or you can just purchase a command switch.
How many? How far away, apart?

FastTrack switches cab be purchased with the receiver built in. Ross Custom Switches can be ordered with ZStuff DZ2500 machines that have built command support.
The Z-stuff DZ2500 switch machines are perhaps the simplest solution. You run a single data bus wire around the layout, and each switch taps into it to receive the command signals.
As Professor Chaos says the Dz-2500s can be a good choice. You need the data wire driver which is under 30.00 and a machine for each switch. 3 wires around the layout powered by 12 volts AC and tap into the wire at each switch. Hook the 3 wires to the data wire driver which plugs into the base. Program the switch machines and you're good to go. I used phone wire for my buss and it works fine.
