Do you know where to get them?

I received an email from Midge this morning. They have the brackets for $4.00 each. I ordered 3 of them. I do have an extra remote I purchased last year. just trying to stretch the life before being forced to Apps.
Give them a call. I think they will sell pretty briskly.
It is a part now. You remove the old sensor and wheel and install in the new bracket. G
They are listed as out of stock right now.
yes they are available when back in stock that's why I ordered them a while back for those of you then need one or more here is the part number for thumb wheel bracket!
BG-5000007
the part is called thumbwheel cradle-plastic

I would lob a call to Midge. She emailed me yesterday. I never checked online to see if they were listed in or out of stock.
ASC's don't get to use Midge's excellent service, we order behind the curtain. Right now when I confirm the entry for BG-5000007, it comes up as "NOT AVAILABLE".
I also got an email from Midge saying they were in stock now. Not surprising the web page hasn't been updated yet. They had a bagful at York where I picked up a couple.

midge gave me the information I just sent it is correct but I checked there web sight n does not recognize the new part number just call midge or call extension 261 and they'll order for you or let you know when the next shipment is due in. extension 261 !

What is discouraging is I have some of those brackets on order too (Service Tech), says available. Yet my customer ordered a couple from Midge and got them in 3 days. Not for the faint of heart to repair.
Chuck, that's the joys of dealing with the tech side of things, we get such prompt service... NOT!
could they make them out of Delrin next time? … or anything better. it has to flex every few seconds.

When I saw the picture of the part, it screams stamping or crc out of aluminum. Apply the breaks after the cutouts and done.
Of course the 1st part would be the tooling.
I have a few of these recently received. I attempted to remove the wheel and the green top electronics from a defective thumbwheel assembly and I am evidently pretty high on the learning curve, so any steps/suggestions would be appreciated.

Aluminum isn't a good idea, flexing it would quickly fatigue the bracket and it would break. Oh, wait! That's what happens now!
The only thing I could come up with was the entire thumbwheel assembly, BG-5000000 but I'm not sure if it's available now or not. When I entered the part number listed above, I got "Your search yielded no results."
John
The whole assembly is still not available. The number for the bracket is BG-5000007. Call or email Midge if you need these.
Pete
Pete, that's the number I tried but got no results. I just sent a note to Midge.

Thumbwheel as assembly is obsolete
MTH broke the thumbwheel into three parts that are individually ordered. This is from Jason's email to ASC's.
Thumbwheel cradle (the part that most often breaks as it’s the “spring” for the thumbwheel select feature) – BG-5000007 - $4.00 retail
Thumbwheel (no encoder) – BG-5000008 - $4.00 retail
PCB with three wires (this is the PCB the encoder solders into) – BG-5000009 - $2.00 retail
yes they were broke into three parts but the only parts that are now available are only the BG-5000007 as per MTH Jason and Midge! I have personally talked to both of them about this! the cradle thumbwheel bracket!!
Alan
I was wondering if there is a way to re manufacture these to be stronger not to break and perhaps drill and had a button to push the selection switch instead of pushing the thumbwheel as has been shown in other posts on this topic. Any of the cradles left in stock now?? I think that if the design was made a bit thicker it would not break as easy I have 3 remotes I need to fix.
Well, there's always a way to improve a product. The question really is, do you want to spend the money for a new mold? Thicker may not be the answer, a more robust but flexible material would probably be called for.
