When one speaks or commercial paint removers, are we talking of things from the hardware store?
Some plastics are finicky so it's best to always try some on unexposed plastic such as inside the shell. There are comercial strippers specifically for models. One that I've used is from the old scalecoat line called washaway. It's never given me a problem although in my HO days, even it could damage a Kato shell, so once again test first . Chameleon paint remover made by a couple of Baltimore Md. guys , was the best stuff ever, even on Kato pieces ,but is no longer made. There are stand buys like brake fluid for cars, that works well on a lot of things, as well as Easyoff oven cleaner that I've never tried. But once again, please test anything first. I can't stress that enough.
Mike
