Reset Code for Legacy Engine NYC E8 6-84089

I found manual from a different E8 with legacy. To restore engine to factory default, just assign legacy ID again (even the ID you have it set to now) by the standard sequence of Switch to PGM, power on, on CAB handheld press ENG, the ID, SET, power off, switch to run. Should now be reset.

To MED,  thanks, that looks like what I need...  I have downloaded it and it's printing out...   I will reprogram it to a different number this time....

Any Legacy from after 2010 with the RCMC or later boards is reset simply by reprogramming the ID, there is no additional reset code.  Early Legacy from 2006-2010 used AUX1/1 for steam and AUX1/2 for diesels.

I did glean hat from the document that MED found...  I reprogrammed the ID to another number but it did not fix the issue...  I still have no startup sound or engine sounds while starting up or running the engine...  Is there any thing else I need to do...  I did read not to use the previous ID number so I did not...  Maybe the engine needs to be serviced!!?

Try pressing aux 1 & turning up the volume.

Alternate the ALT1 & Volume Up a few times.

I just tried your last suggestion (AUX1 and Volume Up)  and that worked!  Startup Sounds and Running sounds have returned... Thanks for your help... Learn something new about Legacy every day.
