Reset Hudson 763E 6-18056

Hi,

I'm new to this forum so hopefully I am posting this to the right place...

I have a 763E J1 Hudson which I have owned since new...  Very recently the smoke unit stopped working..  I assumed that the unit was shot so I ordered and installed a new unit (6-8045-200)..  Still no smoke but all other functions still work fine...  I downloaded the Lionel reset procedure and performed it on the engine.. Still no smoke.  Is it possible that the main circuit board has an issue or is there another resetting procedure which I might try...
