I've been restoring two really bad 607's I got off of Ebay for the main reason to try my hand at it and add to my current ones I have. with that said I now know I need to redo the rest when I get these done but here are pics from the start and the end I forgot to get pics of the cars themselves but did so on the inserts and roof's

The pics got mixed up from how I added them but you can still see the different stages and where I'am at, at this point. Now the question is it easier/better to add lettering /numbering with the car completely together or should I take the window inserts back out and do it. the tabs haven't been bent over yet.
They look great Bill. It takes a bit of work time and patience but it pays off in the end!
Great job Bill, I haven't actually done it yet, but I would suspect having the inserts out would be easier. Several times I have been lucky enough to be able to use the original inserts as is. I know also that most times that does not work though.
BTW, which colors of Green did you use, they look like a real good match to the original colors!
Dennis when I go out to the garage I will get the colors and brands as the blue is a different brand and was more
Dennis neither can had the color on go figure next time I goto Lowes ( home depo colors where not close enough for me ) I will check it out and let you know.
Found receipt and I still will goto lowe's next time I goto Aiken but here is what the receipt says
8055 12-oz Fern stops rust R-O
384321 12-oz gls peack blue spra
nicely done bill!
Thank-you all still have more to do but there coming out nice.
nice job !!
I really like how the green one came out
Thank-you it's just a take your time thing

I found it easier to do rubber stamping when the inserts are out.
Make sure the existing paint is cured.
Use the recommended stamp ink.
If a mistake is made when stamping I used mineral spirits to remove the bad stamping, then re stamp.
If you use a stick on type of label/decal it also may be best to do with the piece out for proper alignment.
You may also want to explore using a P-Touch label maker with a clear label and black lettering. I never used this but the only problem would be from the edge of the label or make your own decals with a ink jet (there is a lot of how to on the internet).
Thanks Ron I appreciate that info.
I restored this 259E, converted a tender into a milk car and restored 2 608s and a 607. I use vinyl
lettering that I get from a sign shop. The windows are frosted acetate form a art store. I don't know why I put Passenger instead of Pullman
on the cars??????

Great job, like the milk car.
