Over a period of about 9 months I've rebuilt 3 675s , 1 2065. 1 2064, 1 671 ,1 2026 and several 671 624 and 2671 tenders.  I have monster project to finish rebuilding a '46 671 then 226E. I've learned a lot. I had a lot of help from OGR forum members. I love doing it. More than running the trains now.  Although I enjoy seeing them work like new so much.

I converted some headlights to leds and liquid smoke units. I'v had to find many parts, screws ,trim and electrical parts  from a variety of vendors

It is great to see them running like new.     I have bought a fleet of postwar lionel.  About 95% needed some repair.  I buy cosmetically good with low wear, budget friendly items.   Often they have shelf death.  Rotted wires, E units gone bad or sticky, old grease, brushes that have been oiled and on.  Even had a 671 that had motor oil used in smoke unit.   That was a stinking mess.

Amazingly 2 engines have not needed anything but oil.   A 1950 773 and 520.  Both ends of the cost spectrum.  The 773 was lovingly cared for and gently run over the years.  The 520 was just ignored and left on the shelf.
