Here is my dad's 1940's vintage Lionel train 'bangin' the diamonds' in TMCC. How cool is that?!!! Gotta fix her front headlight and the track is a little bumpy, but she runs like champ. The old 1033 wasn't putting out enough juice with all the new lights in the cars, so I dropped a brick on her and she is chugging along in high style. I've got 13 straights and 6 curves to build a carpet central with. Cya-I gotta get to work...

I love adding TMCC to unusual stuff, great move there!
hey gunrunnerjohn- just to clarify. She's all original. I just hooked up a spare Powermaster and brick to the track to run in conventional with the Cab1 as was discussed in another thread. She runs great. Although I did have that moment of thinking - what if she was TMCC equipped with GG1 railsounds....
Nah- I think I'll leave her alone. Too cool as is.
Well, that's OK too, I'm kind of a conversion junkie, so I like to automate everything.
That one looks older than 40's - more like early 30's.

Great timing. I just laid out my expanding Carpet Central. My dad was born in early 30's (I know he's not 80 yet...sorry dad), so you're probably right. Trust me, I've already had visions of building a deck for it under my existing layout-and I haven't even connected the sections yet...Cool train- Geez -this looks addicting...
Aside-'Carpet Central'- I explained this to my wife today that any layout built on the floor can and should be called the 'Carpet Central' because George from OGR Mag coined the phrase and now it is a standard in the business. Just like 'Hi Rail' or 'O Gauge' is. I think she got it--- just watch your step honey
