saw went channel surfing and seen it..
My wife finds this is really boring. She changed the channel to watch parades and news type morning shows. I was able to tune it in again while she was out of the room. Most interesting when they have rare RR crossings, great horn! Since I was able to see the restart at 10 AM AST their was a bit of activity of the conductor. I took a couple pictures of the train crossing the Talkeetna River bridge leaving Talkeetna, Alaska. I'll check them and if the are worthy to post, I'll upload them.
Sit and watch that for 5 hours, no thanks. I rather watch grass grow.

I had it on in the morning and even I got bored. Later, I remembered I have surround sound. Duh. I turned it on and cranked it up. It made even the visual scene more exciting. You can hear the diesels cranking up and the sounds of the effort of the train on the cold rails.
I hit record and will watch again when I'm alone. I hate to hear "turn that down!"
It reminds me of my youth.
Just stumbled upon this...It is like the Yule Log for train lovers! Good scenery and background noise.

Decided to record it and edit out all the commercials before watching. Net program time is 3 hours and 32 minutes out of the 5 hour long block. First commercial break was 12 minutes in and subsequent breaks were 5 minutes apart with approximately 2 minutes of commercials per break.
Also, it is not "real-time" as there are jumps in continuity at each commercial break.
I'll watch it when I'm not so tired. Right now I wouldn't get 15 minutes into it before I zoned out.
Guys. I took this identical trip 2 years ago, Fantastic. If you ever have a chance, don't pass it up. They had most everything desired from beer to subs and more. I spent a lot of time at the back of the very last car taking lots of photos.

Good move Nick, that is the way to enjoy it! About 30 min into 2nd showing I set my DVR then headed to the family Holiday Feast (where there was not cable channel). Now I am fast forwarding (triple or quadruple time) through the commercials, and double timing through some straights. My son & his wife made the trip from Anchorage to Denali National Park in October, they are looking forward to seeing this video.
