Anyone on board actively building their own switches using ROW parts?

Yes I am.

Thank you for the sample photo.
David - Looks like you are using ROW rail braces on the stock rail, etc. A very nice detail that adds immensely to the appearance of the switches !

In time I think I can start hand laying my track. Jefferson is very knowledgeable and helping us newbies learn.

That's awesome John
jgtrh62 posted:It's been a while since I've built a turnout due to relocating but I am getting ready to start on a universal crossover soon using #10 components. I really like the appearance of hand laid turnouts and track built using ROW, and AS&S, parts, here are a few photos of some previous turnouts I built.
Thank you,
John
Great work! I need to work on mine. I'm not sure I could capture this detail. I'm guessing that the rail joiners are plastic at the frog? Superglued in place? I've spiked my own rail and it looks much sloppier in a close up shot like that.
That's some mighty fine work David, it looks great.
Erik,
GR 48-2 guard rails look different then the ones that I have from ROW ? Are these a later version that you have pictured ?
Thanks, teddymich
Teddymich,
I'll take a stab at this for Erik. The GR48-2 have tie plates cast into them. The regular GR48 guard rails do not. Bottom line, no change.
Hope that helps,
Jay
I was building turnouts with ROW parts... I've finished them now..!
