I went to my LHS the other day to spend a gift certificate. I figured I would stock up on WS water since I'll need it shortly and I was in the area. They were liquidating someone's layout; so I got a good deal on my supplies because they had sealed packages that they were selling for less than their own stock.
Then I came upon the RK signals also a very good price. I decided to use them as switch position indicators on several crossover between my two mainlines. I also wanted to eliminate the DZ pushbuttons at the same time. I came up with this arrangement using a toggle, Evans bi-polar diode, an Atlas 200 relay, the DZ switch machine, and the RK signal. When I was testing it, I noticed that the switch was slow or no operative with the relay attached. I decided to power them from separate sources.
My question is whether the Atlas 200 is dependable enough. I wanted to go with a regular relay; but then would have to configure a latching and release arrangement. There are also the DZ1008s but they can be troublesome.
