The ordering period for the RMLI – Hostess Brands, Wonder Bread PS-2 covered hopper has closed. The Committee and Board of the Museum wish to thank all of you who ordered this car to support the work of the Railroad Museum of Long Island. We invite you to visit our website, www.rmli.org and look at some of our work. Of particular interest are “video” links on the left side of the home page. There you will find short programs of activities at the Museum, the Historic Lionel Layout, the Greenport HO Layout, the Riverhead Railroad Festival and a very professional music video shot at the Riverhead RMLI. On the homepage you will also find a photo and link to our Spring 2013, (thirteenth in our series), Lionel commemorative car offering!! We are continuing our seven year tradition of offering the toy train community a beautifully designed and executed toy train car with this highly detailed White Castle refrigerated trailer on flatcar, with matching truck tractor, to get your fresh “Sliders” to your nearest “Castle!”
Production of this Lionel “Traditional O” car, which features crisp, colorful, nationally recognized White Castle livery with die-cast metal trucks and couplers, will be extremely limited to only those who purchase the car in advance. Funds raised from the sale of this car will go toward the operation of the Museum, including education/restoration programs, exhibits, collections and the Historic Lionel Layout.
