some of you might be using rmt's 31d switch.just wondering if any of you have had any problems(derailments) with any of your steam loco's going thru the curved section of these switches?
i ordered a couple of them and would have ordered the o72 but they are out of stock on them.im really anxious to try the 31d on my layout.

I am not 100% sure but the new RMT switches look like the old K-Line design. The switch motor is mounted on the side of the switch giving greater clearance(no overhang issue) thru the switch and not on top of the switch like other companies 027 switches.
I would definetly buy the RMT switches if I need a new switch.

lee im not familiar with the old k-line switch.im not concerned about the loco hitting the switch motor.
im more concerned about the steam locos derailing going thru the sharp curve portion of the switch.
when i first started in O gauge several years ago i had nothing but trouble with almost all my steamers going thru realtrax O31 switches(curved portion).i never had problems with my diesels though.
hopefully i'll have better luck with rmt's switch.i have two of the o31's ordered and will order more depending on whether my steamers will have problems negotiating the curved leg of the switch.
