I am starting a new project for one of my customers, constructing a stall roundhouse. I was provided a kit made by Port Lines Hobby Supply. I am not sure if they are a distributor or the manufacturer. The walls are urethane plastic, the windows and roof structure are wood and the roof is styrene plastic. I plan to use Grandt Line windows and add concrete sills. I am adding wall joiners from DPM at all wall joints to add a little more detail. The building will be lighted. The roof will be flat and I will not follow the design of the open wood rafters. The following pictures show the start of construction. The first thing I had to do was calculate the inner and outer radius and the degrees per bay, so I can make a 1/4-inch thick luon base. I plan to build up the floor inside to cover the track ties.

Craftsman kits of this nature require some pre-planing in order to construct them effectively.

Here are some more pictures of the roundhouse construction. I used the four wall joiners that were provided in the kit on the rear walls and scratch built the center one. On the sides, I used DPM wall joiners that I had left over. I have to decide what I will do on the corners and in between stalls on the front. I am going to add a 1/4-inch luon base to the interior between tracks and cover with styrene to represent a concrete floor that will be even with the top of the rails.

I have just about completed the roundhouse. I have to talk to the customer about making the doors stationary or try to hinge them. I ave not glued the roofs to the building at this point. If the square strips I glued on them prevent warpage, they will not have to be glued allowing complete access to the inside of the building.
