RTR Remote Control Replacement

You'd probably have to deal directly with Lionel service for a new "train/engine specific" remote unless you let a dealer order one for you.  Otherwise there is the Universal Remote that you don't want.

If you are wondering if Lionel sells specific LionChief remotes for dealer stock, the answer is “no.” That’s what the universal remote is for.

For warranty service purposes, I believe replacement remotes are available for current production items, but only for specific warranty claims, which usually requires that you send in the defective part.

As Marty suggested, you’re going to have to contact the service department to firm up what’s available and under what terms.

Unfortunately, Lionel is still out of the universal remote since last January, so unable to order.  Called the customer, informed them of none available.  They replied, "We called Lionel and they sent us a free universal remote".  Go figure, as a dealer I am unable to get one for resale as Lionel is out, but they have them free for end users.

I do not know.  I did not ask the customer and they only indicated they lost the remote.  If they want a replacement, I do not ask why, I just sell them one, if available.
