Geting started---how do I wire in the Cab 2 Legacy system for TMCC & Conventional only?  Early on I read that my TMCC Engines will operate far better with Legacy than on the regular TMCC Comm Base. Do I just disconnect the Command Base from the system, from the Common circuit, and connect the Legacy Base to it ??

My Legacy system is about 2 years old still in the box, but registered, and I received some modules. Been reading and lurking [too much] but still unsure. I have only TMCC and Conventional engines and have been successfully operating from Cab 1 on other layouts since the beginning of TMCC.

I don't run smoke and no longer operate ASC and other accessories from the Cab 1 [large layout dismantled in'09]. Turnouts are Ross/Tortoise and now powered on 12 VDC. Modest 9x16 layout--a "Senior Citizen's" layout with Gargraves Flextrak. Each 37" track section and between turnouts is wired for railpower.

My railpower/Control set-up operates two separate power districts[2 Loops & Yard] consists of a Command Base and a separate 180 Powerhouse linked to its TPC 4000 for each district. The crossovers between the districts are gapped and no issues on crossing with TMCC. My districts are separately panel metered for VAC and AAC and each distict is protected by TVS.

I am rust-painting railsides and completing glue ballasting and then hope to clean rails, wheels and pickups and run trains again--operated just  fine when new layout wiring completed. Thanks for any help!

Disconnect wire from "U" terminal on TMCC base. Remove TMCC base. Install Legacy base. Connect wire from "U" terminal of TMCC base to "U" terminal on Legacy base. Program engine into Legacy system. Done.

Now the options. If you still would like to use your old CAB 1 control in addition to the new Legacy CAB 2 control connect the old TMCC base to the Legacy base using the "Y" cable that came with the Legacy base.

Thanks a lot Al. Be a few days before I finish painting rails/ballasting and clean up to try it out.

Gun Runner John. Yes, I have TPC 4000s linked to each of my PowerHouses[power districts] and have run Conventional from Cab 1. Mostly run Conventional only when Grand Kids visit.

Thanks again guys for the response. Now to read the Manual again and again with more confidence.
