Trying to run tmcc/odessey engines on dcs fixed voltage loop and getting no response. Had them working on variable output but blew out both variable circuits. The engines are getting power but thats it. Any ideas whats wrong? Thanks in advance. Won' respond to either the tmcc or dcs hand helds

How did you manage to blow out the variable channels? I think I'd be looking into that issue before proceeding!
If you're running using your Lionel remote, as long as there is power to the track and you have the signal wire to the outside rail, those locomotives should run.
Have you taken the TIU totally out of the picture and just run the transformer right to the track and seen if they run that way?
Joe,
Check the fuses in the TIU, one for each channel, as well as any external fuses/circuit breakers. Also check circuit breakers on the transformer.
More detail regarding the variable channels issues would also be helpful.
I think the problem is the command base. when i address an engine the red lamp next to the green goes on and off. Isolating the tiu and the same . Not sure if i have another command base but i guess changing it is the next step. Either that or selling off the handfull of Lionel engines i have left..Nothing but a headache with their product
I can't even imagine how the command base is doing this, it just connects to the outer track.
BTW, the red light on the base is supposed to flicker when you are talking to the base with the remote, that's indicating it's receiving the data.
Does the TIU run DCS engines? Do you have a CAB1 to test the engines and Command base without TIU? Need to start making sure you know what is good and what doesn't work. G
