I was doing some research and came across this nice steam engine on NASG. Any of you S regulars know anything about this engine. I can't find much info on S Scale locomotive & supply, still around or out of business. This would be on my bucket list to buy, from what I could find out these were in kit form.

I am not an expert on it because I wasn't in S at the time, but SSL&S was essentially Fred Rouse' one man business. He sometimes partnered with others like Simon Parent, a master of scratch building steam locomotives whom I have had the pleasure of meeting. Fred still sometimes contributes to one of the online S scale forums, but he has been out of business for a while. I don't think he has done any kits for at least 15-20 years. He offered some other services more recently such as the scale wheels, coupler & DCC conversions of Flyonel Y-3's. But I don't think he has done those for at least 5 years now.
To hunt one of these 4-6-0's down, it would probably be best to get Simon Parent's contact information from NASG.org and check with him on whether he is aware of any owners out there who might be interested in selling theirs.
According to the NASG website, Fred sold the S Scale Locomotive & Supply assets to an unnamed buyer in 2016, but retains rights to the SSL&S name.
