You guys have been great in helping me solve some recent tmcc related problems.  I got a new one.  The 11 switches on my fastrack layout are controlled by two SC2 s and a Cab 1.  All of a sudden the switches are unresponsive.  None work.  The SC2s are connected directly to the switches.  The switches get constant power off a separate arm on a ZW.  The green light on each SC2 is on.  When I move the wheel on the Cab 1 the command base flickers red showing it is picking up the signal.  I press sw plus number and direction on the cab 1 and nothing happens.  There is no flickering red light on the SC2s  when I put in the switch signal on the cab 1.  However, one of the sc2s occasionally  flashes red.  I have another Cab 1 and tried to a activate the switches with it. Nothing happened.

I recently did a tmcc reset on a locomotive.  Is it possible that this interfered with the programing in my SC2s and I have to reprogram them?  Thanks for any help you can give.  Bob

It sounds like the SC 2's may have been inadvertently reprogrammed to a new address, or simply forgotten their old one(s).

Have you tried to program in the address(es) again?

On the other hand the next thing I'd look at is the power feed.  Are the SC 2's switching the hot side of the switches, or the common (you don't mention specifically which model of switches are being switched)?

One of the two that feeds both SC 2's is open, either power or ground, because neither SC 2 is doing it's job.

I think I may have two problems.  I reprogrammed the SC2 that did doesn’t have the red light intermittently blinking and things work perfectly.  With the SC2 that has the blinking red light it took a few attempts to complete the programming.  When I tried the switches one or two  worked but not regularly.  There may be a defect in this unit.

Fortunately I have two additional SC2s and I can swap the suspicious one for a new one.  Hopefully this will solve the problem.  I shouldn’t complain.  These units must be close to 20 years old and came off a large layout when I downsized.   Thank you for your help on this matter.     Bob
