Scale coat 2 paints, your experience

I have used SCII paint many times, but only with the SCII Thinner. It always seems to take forever to dry, even when the weather is warm outside. I think it's because of the gloss finish it has, but that's just a guess.

I noticed the same thing with Floquil after I spray the High Gloss or Crystal Cote finish. The flat paint itself dries very fast, but if you want that gloss clear finish, then it takes for ever to lose the tacky wet feel to the paint.

I am a big fan of scalecoat and floquil paints and on all my brass models I stick them into the oven and bake them at a low temperature and had no problem with tacky finishes.

My regreat is that they are both made by testors and the word passed on to me is that testors is owned by Rustolium and production of all railroad colors has be cut off.

Scale Coat is not made by testors. It is a Weaver product. I have found that scale coat applied with an air brush takes about 4 solid days to dry enough to do other things with it.
