I’m hoping you guys can help me with my first excursion into 3RS. I picked up this International Model Products switcher as a "learning project" for brass work.  It's missing some details, and others need to be replaced (for example the headlight and bracket), but it has good "bones" and should look good when detailed and painted.  Here it was as-is:

Clearly, those tinplate couplers have to go.  I'd like to put on operating scale couplers, but the problem is, the pocket is very shallow.  It doesn't look like even a Kadee short shank will fit.  Here's what I'm working with:

Any ideas?

 

Also, not having any luck finding builder's plates (class C-16) and a number plate or capitol herald for the front.  Different engines carried either, so both would be prototypical.  Thanks for your help with this project!
