Our Railway museum has received a donation of a large G scale basement model railway layout with plenty of scenery. The only location suitable for setting this up is in a large rail car shop building that does not have any heat. During the winter months there is plenty of rain thus the unheated building gets damp and cold temperatures at times freezing. Much of the layout has been built with Styrofoam mountains, some plater cloth scenery, of course plenty of trees, green vegetation etc.
While the track and trains are made for outdoor use we were wondering if the scenery and wood track base in a damp building much of the year would result in mold ?? any thoughts???
