Very nice. An Architect friend built the East Broad Top coal washery for someone so I've seen how much research and work all you guys put into these structures.

Nice project, keep us updated as work progresses. At some point, I plan to tackle the Huber breaker at the former Blue Coal Co in Ashley. It was in my backyard until April 2014 when it succumbed to the wrecking ball.

We need to figure out how to get TWO models of the Huber built, Don.  It’s high on my wish list, too!!

To build a model of the Huber, it will have to be scaled down substantially. There is a guy in W-B who built a model on his basement layout, and it's huge, and smaller in scale, but impressive nonetheless. I also wanted to work with Andre Garcia to do a model of the yard tower that Alan made for you. The foundation is still in the shop yard, as is the foundation for the roundhouse, sanding tower, and several other buildings. I am going to get some measurements of the foot prints and save them, as the remnants may not be around much longer. All the property was purchased by a warehousing developer.

Are you, then, "Workin' on a Coal Mine"......

This project is titanic and knowing your quest for perfection, it will be a masterpiece. Do you have any blue-prints and pictures of the construction phases that you can share with us? It definitely looks like West Virginia to me....

That is a beautiful and massive structure. I can’t wait to see it finished. Next week maybe😉? I know this masterpiece will take many more hours to complete.

Very impressive job, Christopher!  It has a lot of great corners and angles that add interest.  What did you use for the support structure?

I'd thought about that but I made many adjustments on the fly from the drawings. I should post what I have at some point, though. The inspiration is from the Nuttallburg mine on the C&O combined with another called the Red Raven ash 2 mine from the N&W. The Nuttallburg mine complex has been partially restored, is now a state park site and has many photos and a video or two on Facebook and elsewhere that I referenced.

All of the structure is made from Plastruct dimensional steel beams and angle braces.

I'm sorry to have to be so brief for now, I'm going to be a way from the computer for a while and I'll have to address any further questions later.

Thanks for all the nice comments, guys. I cut many corners here, but I've tried not to cut corners where it counts  and I think it has paid off.
