From what I read here, most on the Forum don't use 0 gauge tubular track, but for those that do, is there a suggested/generally accepted screw to be used to secure tubular track to Woodland Scenics foam roadbed and a plywood table top? Someone suggested a #4 5/8 Philips head zinc plated sheet metal screw. I'm thinking that maybe it shouldn't be plated so it blends in better with the black ties on the track. Anyone want to weigh in on this one?

I use 1/8" cable ties (4" long) to hold mine down, but that's not what you're asking. I would thing 5/8" would be a bit short, as the tie is 3/8s or so (for O gauge). I think 1" would be more suitable. If you can't find black screws, perhaps a Sharpie would do the trick.
Hope this helps,

Every VHS tape has 5 thin black 5/8" screws holding the case together. As these are replaced, I've saved the screws just for this use. They're all I've used on my layout.
J White: I just tried that sharpie idea, and I think it'll work. Thanks!
TrainsRme: How many screws do you use for each track piece?
3/4" #3 R.H. wood screw. Trouble is not very easy to fine. A old, old fashion hardware store may have them in like a dark blue or black finish. Like looking for a needle in a haystack.
I used K-Line Shadow rail track and K-Line tubular with #4 X 5/8 black screws. I used Quietbrace sheathing on top of OSB board. The screws go in to the Quietbrace but do not reach the OSB to transmit noise.
I purchased screws in quantity for this company

A light application of caulk to the top of the foam will hold the track without the need for screws.
Jaymark - Myself, I just use a screw where the track slides or lifts. Or when using GarGraves flextrack I follow their recommendations for spacing of screws.
Note: I've used them only on 027 and GarGraves. I doubt if they're long enough for O-gauge with roadbed.

I agree, clear caulk works great as does a dab of hot melt glue. If you use screws make sure they don't go into the plywood as this will transmit a lot of sound.
If you're going to hard ballast the tubular you can use screws but remove them once the ballast dries.
I use #6 1" black bugle head (philips head) drywall screws. Easy to install & remove and they're sized perfect for the small holes Also, the screw matches perfect with black tinplate ties.
They also come in different lengths. I used fine thread 1" and the 1 1/4 "
Buy them at ACO or Home Depot.

I found small screws that go thru the holes in the tubular track ties at Menards. I'm not sure if they are long enough for foam but plenty long for plywood base. Don
